well - i installed the bar. I have one feeling .... i feakn love it. I had a problem w/ my roof rattl'n .. thats 95% gone .... the car takes turns better ... and i have A LOT less body roll.

What I didnt realize is that you shouldnt torque the two bolts they give you to 59lbs. I torqued the one to 59 and it made the frame support indent slightly. Things should be fine though because there is no way to fix something like that and when i saw it indent I backed it out 1/2 turn.

IMPORTANT:

DO NOT START THIS IF YOU DONT HAVE A 7/16 METAL DRILL BIT!!

6/16 will not work people! If I had a good drill and had the proper drill bit from the start it would have saved me a few hours. The install is pure basic. You take 4 nuts off ... you drill 2 holes .. u put the support on .. you put your bolts on. That easy. The only part that consumes time is the drilling of the driver side hole because its threaded and extra durable. The side that caved in on me was the passenger side because its nowhere near as durable as the driver side.

But I think everybody should get this. The tC needs to come with this! If you are leaning toward getting this but dont know if its worth it ....get it and PM me with a thank you after the install. hehe. Im not getting paid jack squat for this post but I had doubts in getting the bar.

I really wonder what a really expensive sports car feels like when taking turns because i really can cut the wheel harder now and still have control. Feels like the car is taking the turn but handling it instead of struggling with it.

Feel free to comment on what i wrote. pze.

WOW - guess what - I went out autox'n and I haven't got my new race wheels and tires yet.

I have been kickin' ___ and takin names for a bit on my Pirelly (that have like a 400 tread wear I think - really bad) I have my my 18's though using TRD Shocks/Springs. and Sway bar at full stiffness.

I went out after installing the brace and this is how much it worked -

I got squirly on the course and something didn't feel right ... I was like - hey what the heck. I had a couple of out insane awesome nationalists check it out and drive it and sure enough that brace stiffened up the car so much all that weight that normally gets absorbed by the frame was emphasizing the spring rate on the TRD srpings/shocks actually making them 'too much' in the rear.

The reason they could tell this is the weight was REALLY being applied to the tires and NOT being absorbed by the frame of the car and putting all of that on my not so adequate tires overbeared them and mid turn the rear would get light horribly.

I had to LOOSEN the rear sway to make sure my tires didn't get overworked and they said you NEED to get Azenis or Race tires on this bad boy.

When I get my race wheels tires and camber kit on here I'll stiffen the rear sway back up and go to town!

The strat brace worked INCREDIBLE - thanks for eatin my daily drivers alive guys ;) haha - I couldn't believe how well it did it's job.

It got MANY compliments today!

Depends on your drill and bit total length I did not need to - just try laying down there with the drill and check.

Probably benefits me I'm not such a big guy and just slide right under - heh

did you indent the bar under your car when you tightened the bolts for the bar? I was suprised to see it bend like it did. I used the spacer under the car so that worked out great (it would have caved worse w/o the spacer).

No - I used a torque wrench and set it so that it wouldn't try to kill my car :D

Did you torque it by hand?

Yeah - that car stuff can be bendy though thats why this kinda product rocks when you get one that does the job... Now I need some tires to handle it

it wasnt the bar that bent ...it was the frame rail where i put the bolt though. I torqued it to 59lbs and it made the bolt sink into the rail a tad. Its not like a donut but I would say it sank 1/5inch.

Yeah I know - thats what I mean - I didn't mean the brace. I meant the car. Although I did put my spacer on top and and took - sorry not the torque wrench *long day* I used the impact wrench and set it low just enough to set it well.

*spaces out - I need a beer*

7/16!!!

6/16 might be a good first bit to use but you need 7/16's for the bolt to go through.

ok cool - i feel a bit better now - i was a tad scared that i made it bend like that because I wouldnt think it would have. What also was odd was that I didnt have that bolt that was talked about (meaning I didnt ahve to remove the bolt that it says to remove because I just didnt have one).

WOW - so I had to put me rear sway on the TRD to 'STREET' because my frame was so stiff!!!

I moved from 7th on saturday to 2nd in STS/NS4 against the course designer only .3 ahead of me in a Miata properly setup and had Proxes RA1 tires -

I BLEW everyone away with 9th best PAX and 15th RAW.

When the new 17" wheels get here with the tires and I set the camber ITS ON.

Our FASTEST of nationals drivers got a 43.8 I think? and I was at 47.2 but layed down a 46.5 on my 'fun run' damnit. But this is against a Miata that's got a National Title on race tires.
