I was wondering are there any shifters that are bent to move the shifting back an inch or 2, my shoulder gives me problems, and I am close to considering getting a car without a stick for that reason. I have to extend my arm all the way to shift into fifth and its bothersome. I am thinking about the doctor isotope shifter just to see if its any better for shifting. I saw an s bend shaped one in a picture but i dont think it was for a tc. I would like the shifter to be 2" backwards or so.

I just installed my Megan Racing Short Shifter today and it went so smoothly and was so much easier then what everyone made it seem? idk maybe i just got lucky but did not take long at all, and as for stiffness i have none at all really i used white lithium grease and it is very nice.......Very impressed and is a must mod on the TC

Has anyone done a shift-boot to shift-plate conversion on a manual? Is it even viable?

Its not. Our shifter, with its cable linkage design, basically moves in a circle at the shift base if you look at it. If you put a gated shift plate on it, it would basically have a round hole in the middle. Not to mention, other than in cars with very precise linkage systems and trannys, gated shifters suck for anything but looking cool.

Dr. Isotope, it's made to order from an OEM shifter, and you can't beat the price. You can choose the height, and get everything from just the shifter to a whole shifter cage assembly complete with bushings and a custom ****.

I have a question. I just bought the doc I basic SS and did not get the crosspin washer. Is that necessary for the install or can I do with out?. Looking at the instructions it doesn't seem like it.

found out that you can make the stock shift boot work, however, i red alot of ppls comments on the DIY thread for the TWM short shifter and it seems like it only makes the shifter shorter and does not actually reduce the distance of throw on the shift? is this true? cuz if it is, theres really no point in even getting it.

by reducing the height, the throws are shorter as well. Not sure if you bought it yet, but TWM is a bit overpriced.
