Got my Dr. Isotope gearswitcher in, it's great :D . Ended up going with a 2" height reduction:

Oh also, I'm somewhat confused about the cable bushings which I have yet to install. I looked at install guides for other companies' bushings to get an idea of what I was going to do with Doc's delrin bushings, however all other companies only give you 2, while Doc includes 4... how exactly do I install these things?

Docs go in as a sandwich. So they are basically 2 peice bushings. From what I can tell, that i the very best way to make them that hard and still be able to fit 100% correctly in the cable ends.
Oh darn engifineer beat me to it lol. I made a DIY and everything. Oh well you guys mught find it helpfull just the same :-):

other then that there are 4 bolts and then the 2 connections that clip on the end of the cables. IT is a little tricky getting the 2 cables out of the there. You have to turn the connection piece but there is a spring keeping it tight
Also, the search is very helpful ... I put "shifter diy"

ok here is the ARK VII STS...excuse the **** it was temporary

it's a great shifter. It's a little taller than the TWM stage 2 (by mere centimeters) but the throw reduction is much less. paired with a weighted **** (which i now have), this makes for an excellent shifter. no missed shifts and the distance inbetween shifts is a lot shorter. Excellent product. one thing though, you cannot use the stock leather **** or the TRD leather ****. You do need an aftermarket ****, the one that ARK supplies with it though is sufficient and pretty good.

In most of the pix I've noticed almost everyone w/ Doc I's SS has that chrome ring on the shift boot covered. Is it possible to install it with the chrome ring intact (w/ 1.5" default reduction)?

Similar to this setup (notice the chrome ring on the shift boot underneath the shiftknob)

And yes its possible to keep the chrome ring. If you look at the pic of mine that you quoted you can actually see it, its just kinda hard because of the bad lighting... I'll have to get a better pic. You need to drill out the crome ring with a drill bit larger than 1/2" or take a 1/2" drill bit and grind out the center to acheive the same effect. I also cut off a portion of the bottom of it to make it smaller so it wouldnt interfere when I crammed it on there. You then set it up just like stock only when you slide it onto the shifer it will go over the lip of the shifter that used to hold it up. Its now held up just by the boot pushing up. I hope that made some sense
My Megan racing short shifter w/ my new sparco shift ****.....

I have a question what do i do about the boot......it too big now? How do make it look like the pix below............................?
