It may just be exclusive to the TC with the TOB problem. I know I'm going ACT for sure though.

The Act clutch in my bro's car was making some noise, like the tob was spinning a little bit even when he was off the clutch. Then the pitch changed after 500ish miles, and now after 1500 the sound is gone.

yea i think it's how i installed the TOB honestly, or when i was putting the transmission in the input shaft knocked the TOB out of place or something.

who knows. my clutch grabs, drives fine and doesn't give off any negative symptoms other than sound...and if that gets worse THEN i'll replace it AGAIN. but for now im drained.

If its just sound i wouldn't worry about it, most aftermarket clutches make some sort of non-stock sound. Even says so in the ACT instructions says the clutch may make sounds and it may engage substansially lower on the pedal than an oem clutch. So your probably fine just keeping it like it is.

wifey called and told me the clutch is in, I guess I'll be finishing up the install tomorrow afternoon. Most likely I will be using the ACT Tob just because theirs should be designed to hold the stronger pressure plate. The stock one could be a great desing, just not sure if is rated that high.

I have both anyways, I'll compare and decide which one looks more solid.

full disc 390 tq, I hope I made the right choice. I'm not near that nuber yet and a 32% load increase on the pedal is nothing. The next one was 499tq full disc, but had 71% load increase on the pedal. I was thinking more along the lines of minimizing TOB failure cuz of a stronger pressure plate and there's no way I'll reach that on stock motor.

390 should be plenty for now....unless we bump up the boost to over 20psi, that would put you near or on 400hp (tq would follow fairly close to that)

Forgot to mention, assaultech.com is awesome!!!
I normally buy from another sponsor here, but nearly $100 difference was too good to pass.

I paid $373 for the clutch, bought it Saturday 3:10 am (don't ask why) and call them up at 9:00 am to see if I it could expedited. They were already getting it ready for shipping and assured me that it would be at my place by Monday, really cool people to deal with. They include free shipping on everything over $100 and free overnight on Thursdays. I paid a couple of extra bucks to get it through UPS and left a note to see if it could be overnighted cuz it wasn't an option at the time of purchase. They still overnighted it pretty much and didn't even charged extra for it.

Thanks assaultech!!
