Another Competition Clutch Fail
EVERYTHING is going to be in it. from how to take the motor out to little tips on what to do
whats crazy is that i also wrote a NICEEEEEE 4 page DIY on building a custom turbo kit way back but it got deleted by my dbag of a brother.
With respect to CC failure. I have seen a few of these threads pop up with respect to failures. CC made a LOT of changes to their product especially the Stage 4 kit. It now features a new pressure plate, disc and bearing. All of which have worked VERY well for many people.
Over 20K miles on a Dezod employees turbo tC with a CC Stage 4, which we are not nice to.
Anyone whom had gotten their older CC from us, we will work out a discounted pricing on a new model to rectify the issues.

paul would you happen to have a side by side pic of the cc changes?
just seems to me that they would have changed how the springs sit. on one side of the clutch disk you can see how all the springs were rubbing and trying their hardest to get out but on the other side it looks good with no wear on the "spring retainers" (lack of a better word). looked like to me if they changed the way the springs sit so that the spring centerline was right in the middle of the two shifting disks they wouldnt be binding in one direction causing wear on the spring retainers. (sorry not much of a clutch man, just know how to change em...lol)

Crap. He only gave pics of his new one.
Yes I'm done with CC too.. mine failed the same way Pete's first one did.
Oh and after speaking with CC on the phone, they can only attest to making changes in their pressure plate - and nothing else.

They said to send in the broken unit - so I did.. along wtih a letter explaining the events that occurred up to complete failure. I've since called several times and was promised a return call - nothing yet. I'm done with them.
