Im not sure how different the ecu's are when it comes to speed cut, the ecu's does have a different pin outs and i guess a slight different tune due to slight change in specs in the motor but it shouldnt be that different..

I thought I read on here that the rev limiter is different - the '07-'08 will kind of do a fuel cut - while the '05-'06 you just bounce of the rev limiter.

If that is different, maybe the speed limiter could work a little different too. This, of course, is all speculation.

As from what I've read - the ECU's are different - as to what exactly, I do not know. All I know is that there are differences, so if someone is claiming the '07-'08 rev limiter works different, it would seem feasible.. I wouldn't dismiss the possibility.

That would be rather weird that it would actually work "different". Do the 07-08's have a slightly higher redline? I couldn't remember if they did or not.

I believe the 07-08 do have a higher redline.

Slightly. More optimized towards higher RPMs. It seems to respond better above 5k.

Nice. Learned a new thing today, *Woot!*

It seems the cylinder head buyer I had, is flaking.

I guess i'll be saving up and sending it out to Dezod instead ^^, and getting the bc cams too.

I actually have a shortblock and head sitting in my garage. Both look brand new and had less than 5k on them haha...

I guess I should send it to Paul to stock up on.

FYI: We stock valvetrain upgrades so our turn-around is very fast

I'm thinking all the Dezod bells and whistles.
valves, guides, retainers, bc springs, bc cams, pnp, everything....

Can I get a quote please? =)

The only thing is, that the cylinder head I have, is already resurfaced. So can that be discounted from the total price? lol

07-08 tc's have a fuel cut for when it hits 6700 rpms

it cuts hte fuel and dumps the rpms back down to 4000-5000

i know it's possible on older tc's but on the newer ne there is actually a fuel cut that the hydra has to overcome

also, dezod, can you guide me as to what i need to do and what i should do to get to 400~ hp? maybe 500?

i'll be installing valves, guides springs, pistons, cams and whatnot myself but i'm wondering what you suggest

I dont think hydra will have problem with that fuel cut set at the stock rev limit unless hydra doesnt offer the option to change the limiter on 07 up tcs

Having it built in only means you cannot change it. With the AEM you can. With the Hydra you need to run a long vacuum hose to the unit =not good!

Was messing with the software and I found out that you have an option to use an external map sensor, additional expense but still nice to have the option

Pistons, rods, head studs + enough boost = 400+whp.

Person here in my area, has 400whp, with pistons, rods, headstuds, gasket. On 16 or 19psi of boost. Forgot which one.

Zero head work.

So x2 on what rhythm said =)

You are right about that, but I think it became available with the new 2.6 software not with the older version.
SIDE NOTE: Since the MAP sensor is inside the unit you need to send it to them so that it can be changed.

Once again this question could be easily answered by the guys at Hydra or the user manual.
I am with Ace83 in this. The 2007-08 OEM ECU has a different fuel cut, but, since it is still a fuel cut then the Hydra should have full control of it. Remember that all the wiring controlling fuel and ignition is connected to the Hydra and not to the OEM ECU.
