^^ of the guys here have their vacuum block popped when this happens, but it might be an injector leak that can cause this

Hey Ace, I was doing some madddddddd cam timing research last night ^^

I also figured out how to work the rpm/load spread to the way I want it.

I customized it justtttttt right ^^

I'm so proud of myself, lmao!

I'm wondering. What cam timing would be best for my application with a gt35 turbo.

Yea let me do all the work.

Lazy a s s, jk bro =)

What size turbo do you have?

I understand how to change the timing, and how it works. I just want to do some more research for a few more days. So I can try it out over the weekend.

If my theory is correct. I should have less lag, and better midrange powerband, at the expense of some top end.

Which is ok, because by that time the turbo is screaming ^^

hey bro your guess as good as mine.

I just started reading about how to tune the intake cams, from a honda and subaru thread, lmao.

Personally I don't think 4 hours is enough research on my part. I usually research it a few days before I do something in unknown territory ^^

So its more of a trial and error i'll have to test out this weekend ^^

But i'll let you guys know.

I'll let you know what they are later today or tomorrow.

I always get X and Y confused. I have to look at the graph.

Ok, so I opened the PWM 9 table and I got this message

The VCTi spread was not available on upload due to the current password status. You should enter the VCTi spread now for a correct display of the VCTi target table

Then the VCTi spread given is 60.. WTH is that? lol you guys got that message too?

Most boxes have that part of the map locked as it can cause valve to piston interference for people. Get in touch with your Hydra dealer with your box number and they can get you the code to unlock it.

^^ I was able to see the table though after I pressed ok on that message.. But that prolly explains why I couldnt change any values on my other tables like, knock threshold, air temp, coolant temp maps and others coz it needs the password to make changes on them.. I guess hydra made those presets and locked it for protection, correct?

I just installed my motor mounts and my tuner said I need to make changes on my knock threshold when I do install stuff like that coz it causes more engine noise and the knock sensor might get some false knock alarm. I guess I would need to get that password then

You do not need password to change knock threshholds but you do need to press enter after changing each cell.

worked perfect! i would get one just for tuning purposes haha.. i messed with the coolant and air temp map and it works pretty well.. a well configured coolant and air temp map should get you a consistent afrs readings regardless or coolant or outside/intake temperature

Just to let folks know, the VVTi cam advance manipulation will not cause loss in top end power. It is only really active at lower and mid RPM's. Most of the setups (STi/EVO) are fully retarded up top anyway so nothing is lost by playing with it (not much may be gained with stock cams either but hey, why not try it). The cam advance at low and mid RPM will definitely give you better spool up BUT is different depending on which turbo you are running and it's lag characteristics. Enjoy!

Well thats great info, lol.

I was about to retard the cam timing a little to see if the turbo spools better.

I guess i'll be advancing it now ^^

The gt3575 spools up at like 3200 rpm >.<
