The D3 does not flip down. The cd/dvd insert is right above the screen. Yes you need to have the navi disc to use the navigation. Once you insert your destination address you can eject the map disc and insert your dvd movie or music cd. I havent had the need to remove the navi disc myself because I have an iPod. Havent listen to a cd for some years now. Hope this answers your questions.

 

I can take the nav disk out w/o entering an address and drive around town without it asking for the disk, BUT if you try to type in an address or do POI search it will ask for the disk also.

Burn it on a cd and you can select the images from the system menu. There are 3 backgrounds you can personalize with your own image. "LaydDly" made some scion background images which I'm using, he posted on avic411.com (check page 9 of this thread)

There used to be a post on how to install the ND-BC2 back up camera, I thoght it was in here, but cant find it now.....Does anyone know what im talking about? or know where it went? It had pics and mounting ideas, and a nice write up!!!!! And also one for the CD-BTB100 bluetooth module?????

 

I have a question is this one way I could do the bypass? If I take the mute the brake and the ground wire twist them together and crimp it in a butt cap then just run like a 14 gauge wire from the other side and ground it? I'm not sure how you guys are doing the ground and im not good at this kind of stuff. Thanks for any help
