I just scanned back through the thread, 'cause I was pretty sure I remembered someone mentioning San Diego. On page 2, towards the top, mushrew had a post in which he mentioned a useful Scion dealership (Kearny Mesa), and a not-useful one (Poway).

so there is no 6 disc changer offered for the 06 tc? i thought there was. the one with the 3 dials/*****.

 

I think there is the 6 cd changer as upgrade

 

the one w/ the 3 dials is the ipod HU

 

Any dealers know if there is going to be a longer wait for 2006's with side airbags to arrive at dealerships?

 

Mine is supposed to have airbags, and it's in the same shipment as the rest of moriarty's first allotment with 2006s, expected "mid-month".

 

I was asked to wait a full 8 weeks for a super white, manual with side airbags. Otherwise, I could've gotten one within a week without the airbags. I guess it depends on what your dealership already has coming in!

For 2006, there is NO option for a 6 disc CD. None. Nada. Ain't gonna happen.

As for the side air bags, it depends on the region. Here is the Central Atlantic Region, we are getting about 30% of our cars with it and they are arriving on the same boats as the ones without it.

 

What about the following I saw on the scion website?

"AM/FM/6CD MP3 Player w/Satellite Radio Includes: Complimentary Activation and One Year Subscription. LIMITED TIME ONLY. $881"

another interesting thing is that the 1-cd player standard shows the HU screen to be that ugly amber color again. it's not the blue that i scren shot(ed) in my previous thread with pics of the new cars/HU from scion.com.... wtf?

 

Did you see this option in the "Build Your Scion" link after you put in your area code and selected a particular dealership? If you did, it's probably just a leftover option that dealership had in there for 05s. If you go to Scion's website under accessories there is no mention of the 6-disc.

 

Hmmm...you're right. How strange. Hopefully someone will actually take pictures of their 06 and let us know for sure.

 

i wonder if scion changed the HU lighting at the last minute, and that's why that one guy might;ve gotten an '05 HU.....

 

browser is clear... area code in brooklyn ny 11223 shows no 6 cd option. area code charleston sc 29407 shows 6 cd option. It depends on which region you are in I believe.

 

Yes, which region has their act together enough to take down the 6-disc option which no longer exists.

 

South Carolina is in the South East Region and they are not controlled by Toyota. They may not have switched their site to the 2006 model year yet. South East Toyota (SET) also can and does add aftermarket equipment to many vehicles at the port. These items are covered under SET warranty, but not Toyota warranty.

 

er... now I'm just talking from impressions...but...I had the impression that the color of the HU screen was something that could be changed/set. If so...that'd explain the variation, wouldn't it?
