Squirrel spotters FTL !!! Foreground poorly lit and is that a 1 car garage? cuz if so... judging by the pics of that output shot at what looks like 20-25ft from the garage..... the width coverage is horrible for plugging in HIDs lol.

The lights look great in person might be my camera, and its a 2 car garage that i am parked in front of. Also might be the slant of my drive way its quite steep the coverage might look different if the car was level with the garage door

oh and one more thing, PLUG N PLAY HID kits are just that... PNP! You must be rich....

oh look, found them on ebay for <$60 shipped! Same exact box design, so I'm 100% positive they are from the same source... well you learned something today

and last point, the coverage is supposed to look more like this (OEM HID projector); and I know from personal experience the TC halogen projectors don't cover much except a good 15-20ft wide area directly in front of you with good usable light (unless you have great night vision and can see beyond that width....)

but of course, enjoy the extra white/blueness on the ground if that's what digs ya.

Why are you chuggin the haterade so hard? The lights look good, the car is about 10ft from the garage door... it is a 2 car garage, are you blind? If you look in front of his car you can see the light coverage starts within 4-5ft.

I am running the same hids in my xB except mine are 5k. I don't buy crap off ebay, its usually stuff that fell off the truck and you more than likely get no warranty what so ever. And your lucky if the seller is around in a year anyway. If you wanna get low price go ddm tuning (I have them on my wifes fog lights). You gamble on them as to if they will work out of the box or not, I had a bad ballast. But they are lifetime and they are very good about exchanges.

Why is it that everyone has to troll on forums? Why can't you just say something supportive instead of bashing someone else's ride? He was excited to share them with everyone and your just gonna put him on blast? For what? To make yourself feel better?

We are supposed to be a community of scion lovers not a bunch of $h!t talking internet tough guys.

And to 1293RS7, haters gon hate. Just brush it off. I've noticed in the tC threads there is a lot more belittling hostile posts. I never see stuff like this over in the xB2 section.

Play nice kids.

LOVE IT! Trolling doesn't happen much in the 2G forum, but when it does, 99% of the time it is a tC1 guy.

For the price he paid for this HIDs, I found the same exact ones, same box design so what's worse, buy 4 kits for the price of 2 or keep hassling with the shipping back and forth with those "warrantys" ??

Ebay + paypal = buyer protection, and a lot of those sellers on ebay do have their own warranty. The link i provided was merely for reference on an "exact" HID kit match for much cheaper. Took me 2 minutes to find it on Ebay.

You look at it as bashing, i look at it as giving KNOWLEDGEABLE feedback. Everyone is on here to learn; so he did something he likes but my statements merely point him (i hope) in a new direction of learning as well. If he doesn't want to take up on my words and settles for what he's got, that's good for him.

Again, it's all about a learning process and WE all know cars don't stay the same for a very long time... especially in the Scion world.

I did do my research i went and read all the pages of this thread and others, the choices were clear, DDM or MENG and i went MENG because i saw that people had failure problems with their ballasts from DDM and process times for RMAs were over 2 weeks in some cases and i didn't want to deal with that, that's why i paid the extra money. Also the link you sent was for the wrong kit (TC2 takes the 9005 and the h11 bulb sizes) and the seller only had 48 ratings. Sure there is insurance with paypal and buyer protection. But i prefer to purchase my HIDs from a reliable source that i can email and they usually get back to me with in the hour or sooner. So next time you want to send me a link to the "exact" same kit please take more then 2 min on ebay and find the correct one.

It's not even the same box. The only thing that is similar is the car...and even that is printed differently...obviously a fake.

If you did your research, you would've learned ANY PNP (Plug N Play) HID kit is essentially the same. "brand" names do not matter in regards to functioning of the kit. unless you are looking for "OEM kits"

The link was a MERE reference. I know the bulb sizes are different, I didn't take the time to find a "GREAT SELLER" on ebay because I'm not looking to buy. I'm looking for MERE REFERENCE... to show you CAN FIND the same / similar kits for MUCH cheaper.

How is it NOT an exact same kit? the box surely looks the same to me. Someone steals the design, stamps some of their own "flashy attractive words / name brand" bam! oh its MY brand!

Next time also research how ebay works, sellers will put "H11 H1 H4 HB4 9006 9005 9004 HID XENON KIT" in their item title so their items will return when someone searches "H1 HID KIT". More hits, less $$ to invest in posting items on ebay ..... when essentially they are all going to be processed per order, then shipped??.

Also learn that "KEYWORDS" on ebay are what gets sellers' items to populate more than other sellers who don't use keywords.

All the plug and play kits are pretty much made in china, but it does come down to brand name because there are different quality HID's on the market and that is a fact. Thanks for the lesson on working the ebay search engine:

C'mom guys lets keep it cool here. There is always a cheaper and more expensive alternative to many things. It is up the the buyer to research and pay whatever price they are comfortable with.

If you like a local retailer where you can walk in and explain your problem then great. If you want a cheaper online company then go right ahead. It's personal preference and piece of mind and up to the buyer to decide.

Not everything lasts forever and there is always a lemon in one of them.

But no need to hate on someone for paying $300 for an HID kit. We all know you can get HID kits for $50 but leave it to the buyer to decide.

Hey guys,

Installed the VVME kit I got off eBay yesterday. Shipping was quick and no duties to be paid (to compare, had 40$ of duties for a 65$ order from superbrightleds.com).

The connector for the headlight was extremely tight and took a few minutes of playing around with to get into place.

5000K vs stock

hey guys, i'm having a problem with one of my headlights that i have the HID's in, i have the 8k hid xtra kit but when i put the new ballast or bulb in for the 1st time it turns a weird red/yellow color for like 10 sec, then it ends up turning the color to all white instead of the blue 8k tint. any idea what it could be? it's happend on like 2 different kits i have tried, only on the passenger side it is doing this.

My guess is that ballast is a 55w. It would make brighter and more white then what you want. Try switching the ballast from one side to another and see if it happens on the other side.

Does anyone have trouble seeing in the rain at all with their HIDs? I was looking towards getting the 6000k because I like the slight blue look but I don't want to sacrifice any vision for the sake of looks.

HIDs are bright regardless. As long as you don't exceed 6000k, you are fine. I wouldn't recommend anything higher than that. I am currently running 55w 4500k and they are perfectly white with some other colors flickering in at the cutoff.
