@ black so what does that mean are you taking it in? I'm sitting at the dealer right now. They said they are waiting for tech support to call them back with the solution. Apparently they take apart the car as far as needed then tech support calls them and tells them what to do next and how to fix the problem. If they tell me what they did I will post it.

Yes, I already have an appointment for next Monday morning, I was hoping to have the part waiting for me.... She said they dont normally order the part before diagnosing it. I am on the East Coast, the dealer I am going to next Monday is Browns Toyota/Scion in Maryland

Also I have an issue with the power window switch panel rattling that I mentioned to her (Jennifer)... Had already taking that in a couple weeks ago... They put some foam on the panel tabs.... Now the panel rises/pushes itself up away from the door.... And the rattle is still there... She said I will be getting a phone call within 1 business day from a rep. at headquarters, and took all my information...

Going to make that call soon myself. I have been in wait for close to a month for my new head unit. Starting to think I got the brush off.

If I have to wait a month I will cuss someone out. The dealership removed my head unit today and left a empty hold in my dash. My new one is susposed to be in wednesday but I have to go 2 fats with no music. And I'm taking a roadtrip to charlotte tomorrow it's going to be a long trip for my passengers cause it's gonna be quiet...

it never stops amazing me how dumb dealerships can be. No need to remove a radio until they get the new one. Wow, that it pretty dumb.

and that does suck, well unless you get all of your passengers to sing along with you on the road trip

Just got off the phone with Scion Corp with "Tina." She listened to my story and knew exactly of the Alpine HU problem and is going to call my dealer for me and inform them of the fix. I forgot to mention the window rattle problem, but she asked me about it and also said she would tell them the fix for that. I am so satisfied by this I did the customer survey

In other words, anybody that has this problem and doesn't want to mess with the dealer first off, or their dealer tries to screw them over, just call 866-707-2466 and explain the problem and they will call your dealer and have the fix set up for you with ease. Glad at least Scion Corp will help us out lol.

For sure, the lady on the phone said they had a fix for it, so I'm hoping it's not something lame that doesn't work lol.

Honestly, the paper-jammed-in-the-seam-fix works great for me.

Darrin from Scion Corp. Just called me. He is my case manager. He confirmed my appointment or Monday at the dealer. Asked me if I had any questions. I asked has there been a recall or service bulletin fir the Alpine head unit. His response, "not yet but I am aware of it. And I will pass along the fix information to your dealer"

I called my dealership today cause my new unit was susposed to be in today. The ASM told me it would be friday now. So I made a lil call to scion corp and talked to Caley (my case manager). When I told her about the hole in my dash she was completely shocked. She called them and I have the old unit back in now but at least I don't have a hole and have some music again... The karaoke was a bad idea by the way sciontc_mich....

Translation = we don't care enough to issue a fix for this problem. Or not enough people complain about it.

I was told that "most people don't notice it. And others just leave it in IQ mode." I don't know about you guys but when I spend 20 grand on a car I figure everything will freeken work correctly without having to settle for "IQ mode"

ya but it was funny me picturing complete silence, someone singing off key starting to sing something.. and the rest off-key singing along

but seriously.... that's good you got the old head unit put back in, i'm glad you made that call!

My case manager "Tina" called to check on me today and to make sure the dealer contacted me....which they had not, she was surprised and said she'd call again tomorrow...She seems like a nice enough girl that I could try playing the compensation card pretty soon!

It has been a month since I spoke with my case manager and my dealership that "ordered" me a new HU and I haven't heard anything back. This week I called the dealership and left messages asking the status of my HU. No one called met back. I finally got someone on the phone today and was told it's not in and they don't know when it's coming in and they will call me when it comes in. yeah right, i bet they never even ordered it.

I called my case manager and she was shocked I didn't have it. Hopefully she can light a fire under their a$$.

This is so frustrating.if I treated my customers like this I would be in the unemployment line.
