Still confused after reading several post here about the relay harness and ballast size?? Should I use a wiring relay harness on a 35 watt HIDs (DDM Tuning HID kit) on the 2011 tC stock housing? Is it required? I do know most use it on 55 watts, but is it also required on 35 watts? Also is the slim ballast better than the regular size ballast? Thanks guys...

^ Most people don't use the relay with 35W HIDs. I didn't and my DDM Tuning HIDs work fine. All the relay does is draw power directly from the battery rather than running the power through the stock wires. You aren't putting that much of a load on the stock wires with a 35W kit.

As for the ballast size, I haven't seen anyone do a real comparison. I got the slim ballast, but not for any real reason. I like how my slims fit so nicely in my car though. I'd say they're worth the extra $10.

I'm a bit lost on the dome lights. Front map/dome was a snap, clicked the T10 twice and have an extra set (oops) but the back seat dome and trunk... ???

I got a set of these: http://bit.ly/epoINt and it says they fit DE3022

Just tried to put them in and the back seat dome light, this bulb looks to long to fit. Unless we just jam it in there and bend the connectors back a bit??

The trunk light looks like a different bulb entirely, much thinner, and again this bulb I got seems to long?? Or again, is it just jammed in there?

...and I have no idea what this "175" bulb is for the dome light, everything I find has 175 as a wedge type bulb, not this festoon type. Making my head spin!!

Thanks Enzie, that's what I originally used, figured I had Paypal money to burn so I went on eBay vs the superbrightled route... bought the same 3022s, but I swear I think the 31mm length is to large for the dome and trunk. I could see on your installs the same issue I ran into, the LED bulbs just don't quite fit, they are almost shoved in there.

It just makes me think the 3022 is not the right festoon bulb size, but I've not seen other bulb options. I need to go get my owners manual during lunch and see what the bulbs sizes are, the sylvania site has Dome 175 (I can't find anything on 175) and Trunk DE3022... I swear I think it may be wrong.

At lunch I'll go pull the OEM bulbs and sit them next to the 3022 LED bulbs I bought.

...aaaand after further investigation, I was right! the 3022 does not really fit! It works but with CONVINCING! You have to shove the 3022 in there, it's a tight fit but it DOES work.

I spent some time on the phone with superbrightleds and they agree that the OEM bulbs are different than the standard DE3022 they use. The owners manual doesn't say a specific bulb, oddly enough, and the bulb itself only says "12V8WA 06" 12volt 8watt I assume. the 06..no idea. The Trunk.. "HT A12V5W 02" for 12v 5watt.

We may need to wait for someone to make an LED festoon for those bulbs, or try one of the Oznium-style LED plates with a festoon type adapter that can be sized to fit. I'm sure one of the folks on here with a fair soldering hand can easily just zap in a plate of like 30 leds and make out measly 4 led bulbs look pale in comparison.

2011 TC is ma new Delorean.

Put LEDs on Turn signals (7440 swapped from my '07 I traded for this one)
LEDs on the front Parking lights (194 wedge)
Heck I would've swapped the trailer hitch in the Dealer lot too if it were compatible. Don't think the salesman knew which is why they were quick to tell me they'd install a new one free.
Oh yeah LEDs..... Brake light bulbs. (7443) Gave me all kinds of $#!t.
Blowing fuses left an right. Yes they are the right kind of bulbs. Yes I rotated the bulbs over an over to find the right polarity. Crazy mess is they blew the parking light fuse 1st and worked on the brake light circuit. Then after changing fuses few times, the parking light circuit worked, but hitting the brake pedal blew the brake circuit fuse....... and then my ABS and Trac slip indicators went off .. GRRRRRRR

The indicators went away when I put the reg bulbs in brake sockets.

What gives?

I ran into the same problem with the 7443 tails and started a thread about it. We need CK-type bulbs. They are wired differently than standard bulbs. I got my CK-type 7443s from autolumination.com.

CK LEDs are much harder to find so an alternative is to rewire your sockets so they accept regular bulbs.

Search for my "LED tail light bummer" thread.

You have to specify CK-type when you place the order.

This is the thread I mentioned.

There is no link...you have to specify when you place the order. Here, I'll pull the exact post:

The only two options they currently have for 7443 CK's are the 15 LED Wedge Matrix for $7.99 and the 16 LED Light Tower for $9.99.

There isn't explicitly a link for the CK's. I had to email them to ask which 7443's they offered in CK and Chris emailed me back telling me those two are available. When you place your order, you need to add this line in the notes section: "Need GNPHOLE CK 7443 led bulbs per Chris".

They'll send you the CK ones and mine work flawlessly!
