If Scion decides to have a 2nd gen xA this should be the one

As for the Japanese market having multiple versions of cars, what works for Japan doesn't always work for the US. Could you imagine buyers here in the States having to try and decide between a Scion xA, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Echo, Scion Ist... you get the picture.
We can keep going with this forever. The bottom line (ie: my final statement) is that IMO it doesn't make any real sense to have a Scion xA and a Toyota Echo2 sold on the same lot. Reasons have been stated, so it's just a matter of time before the official word comes out as to what's really going to happen.

$20 says there will be an Echo replacement. As for the Celica and tC, Cellica is getting kicked out because of faily sales, which have been happening since 2000, not since the tC came out. Its also rummored the Celcia will just reappear as a Scion.
yes, celica sales have been been very poor after 2000 when the car was released but that's how sports coupes sales are normally. they're always good when the car is released but after a year it slows down. if you want to see for yourself go to a madza or nissan dealer and look at the 350 and rx8. there used to be a waiting period, now you can drive one off the lot.
How does it not make sence to have simliar cars? It offers diveristy at almost no additional cost (same platforms, same parts, just different body pannels). In Japan they seem to have no problem offering the Vitz, Ist and BB, so why would they have a problem will all three here? Mitsubishi off the top of my head offers the FTO and the Eclipse, which are simliar? Why offer a Avalon and a GS300? Why offer a Highlander and a LX-470? Same truck, same car basicly, just marketed toward different people with different tates.
Why offer a RSX and a SI, same car, both two door hatches. Why offer an Accord and a TL? Murano and a FX? Same SUV? Magnum and 300C, both sell like hot cakes. Passat and A4? Beetle and Golf? Identical cars infact which compete for the same shopper. The list goes on forever.
i'm sorry but how old are you?

for those that didn't know, the echo is the worst selling Toyota vehicle, relative to sales goals (MR2 is low volume, and although the actual sales are less, the sales to goal ratio is larger, on average). I don't see any reason for Toyota to continue selling such a miserable product.
