** DRAXAS EXHAUST IS IN!!! ** VIDEO ** PICS **
The M-GT Muffler is nice but its a different design. Its not under the car. It could work as long as they dont have to mount it up at an angle at the bumper. I dont like that and if u ever get a body kit/lipkit it will melt the bumper.
I don't plan on getting any type of exterior features for the car though. If I can get the drift style angle with the tip sticking out about 1-1.5 inches, and down from the bumper about 1-1.5 inches, that should keep the heat away from the bumper and the carbon from building on the back of the car. I might just go to a local muffler shop and see what they got there. There's an HP Racing near my house and my friend works there so the work won't be expensive. Maybe 25$. He can get me a discount on the muffler too so I might just do that. I just don't want to get something that sounds like a fart can.
Another possibility:

You could still angle this drift style and have it black to blend in and just get the draxas tip and put it on.

I like this magnaflow...

Its the oval style. The round style is pretty much just a resonator.

Yeah, true. I've been debating spending the money though. When I get a video of it, I'll post it and you can see how it is. It isn't as bad as yours, although that's how it was the first muffler I had from them, but it's still there a bit.
Here's my video I made this morning at work. I didn't realize my camera speaker was so sensitive so it kind of distorts the sound. If you listen close though, you can hear a slight hollowness to the exhaust.

I think i got it... I might replace the draxas resonator with the moroso spiral flow and then put on a magnaflow muffler. After reading up on it, i think the spiral flow will add some good sound. The spiral flow would be too loud to have alone with no muffler. Im going to go to a muffler shop this weekend and have them look at the current setup to see which Inlet/outlet style would be easiest to put in (ie: offset/center, center/center, offeset, offset) with the existing tubing. I was lookin at the draxas muffler and the way they have the inlet pipe coming into the back of the muffler and not the side might be the problem. The exhaust is hitting that wall as soon as it enters the muffler and then 2 90 degree bends. We shall see...
Well the spiral flow is mostly just a resonator. If you used it by it self it would be like a glasspack. loud as hell. Went to the muffler shop today and they took a quick look. They said to maybe try the larger resonator route first before i go hacking away at the tail end since its such an expensive exhaust. Becuase if a new muffler doesnt fix it then im stuck with a chopped up exhaust. I didnt have much time so the guy just looked and listened really quick. Im going to bring it back tomorrow so they can put it on the lift and maybe troubleshoot it a little more.
Yeah, now im thinking... I dont think the sound we experience is acutally rasp. Its almost like there are baffles loose inside of the muffler. I wouldnt consider it rasp. It sounds like metal on metal. This is ____ing me off. Well, ill see what they say tomorrow. Im washing my hands on the subject for today...
Ok, if you do get a new muffler, get them to cut the Draxas one open and see what's inside and take a vid or pics. I will. I think the perforated tube is broken and the welds are broken as well. Have a good one
i just got off the phone with a Chuck for thermal R&D and he says that cause i have a header that excess gas might be getting through the high flow cat and into the muffler and absorbs the gas then ignites and makes a popin noise like metal hitting metal. he told me to put my stock exhaust manifold back on and see if it still does it. i asked if there was any thing in the muffler itself that could be making this noise and he said that there is nothing that could.
atleast this guy would talk to me and give some explanation unlike draxas who has avoided me after Nikolas told me he would call me back this past monday. i keep leaving voice messages and emails and still no Nikolas.

The only thing I would say against it being that is the fact that before I had the bracket welded on the neck of the tip, I got that rattle almost always around 3000 rpms. Now, after that welded bracket, it's around 4000-4200 rpms. Perforated tube and fiberglass packed designs are very senstive to heat and exhaust velocity. It's not hard to blow out the packing or break the weld on a perforated tube inside the canister. I think I'm going to either go with a straight through setup from Megan (universal muffler), or a spintech with spiral baffles (no packing what so ever). This is annoying me.
Bsmntcuts was going back to the exhaust shop today for a new resonator to get welded so I want to see what he has to say. If a bigger resonator is needed, I might do that or just say screw it and get the spintech and be done with this.
