** DRAXAS EXHAUST IS IN!!! ** VIDEO ** PICS **
Its hard to believe you guys are having such issues - I deff would like you to post what the answers to your problems are because I want to know whats going wrong on your setups. It deff sounds like the problem I was having is not the same problem as you guys were having. I have my exhaust from a few batches earlier then you guys and our issue was w/ the heat shield. You guys have actually narrowed it down to it not being that and it comming from inside the pipe.
Has anybody jacked the car up and hit the gas to see if they can pinpoint what part its comming from? I think someone has but I dont remember what the outcome was. See if its the resonator. If it is then that will not be a bad fix. Get 2 smaller resonators and you will be set. Im getting a bit of rasp which isnt bad at all but I wish I had a resonator that was atleast a few more inches longer. 20+ inch resontor is ideal but the 18incher that I have is pretty sweet sounding.

It was me. I was under the car and had my dad rev to when the noise started. I had my head right under the CAT: NO, Resonator: NO, muffler: YES..............It is as soon as the pipe enters the muffler. If you look at it, it's the gold section of the muffler to the left. (gold from heat). That is where my noise is coming from and it sounded exactly like Bsmtcuts.
I could see how adding a longer or multiple resonators would help this b/c it would slow the velocity of the exhaust enough before it hit the muffler. I might have to try that b/c i like the tip and muffler style.
Anyone got a link to a site that sells good resonators for a low/decent price?

^ I dont have a link but look into the good/bad parts of getting two resonators (2 new ones) because from what I "think" ....getting two smaller ones helps - but please look into that since you want to do the right thing the first time.
precisionmuffler.com has cheap resonators. They sell a 30 inch for somewhere around $30. From reading on here i have found that its better to get 2 small ones instead of 1 long one. They dont have the resonators on their website. You have to email them about it.
Went back to the muffler shop today... Had the guy take a look and he said its definatley the muffler. It may not have something wrong with it but the combination of the 2.5 inch piping, high velocity of air (increased even more by a header), and the design of the muffler (midpipe coming into the back of the muffler) is most likely the problem. He said adding another resonator would tone it down but wouldnt get rid of it. The way the pipe comes into the muffler, the exhaust hits a deflector and its forced to make that hard turn through the muffler. Its most likely the high velocity exhaust hitting that deflector causing it to sound like shxt. They didnt carry 2.5 inlet/oulet resonators (only stock sizes) so i didnt get anything done. He told me to go ahead and order what i wanted online and take it to him. The big problem with replacing the muffler on the draxas is the hard bend the pipe will have to make when it comes into a side entrance muffler. The best style muffler would be Offset/Center.
Example: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=591
Having the offset end closest to the bumper will allow more space for that hard bend. If you flipped over the muffler in the picture with the "magnaflow" logo facing down, thats how it would have to be installed. You can also go with an offset/offset. Now one thing i didnt ask is if i got the straight thru type muffler like the megan/hks/injen ses would that be easier to install? I just dont want the angled up look. If it went straight out that would be fine.

I ended up get the rear cut off today and got a 40 series flowmaster on. Sounds like a mean outboard motor now..........haha............not really a pinging sound but more of a pop now but it flows with the muffler sound
I'll get a video up either tomorrow or day after.

75 for the muffler and 50 for the install.
This is on a cold start and it's about 50 degrees outside. My speaker is really sensative so I'll try to get some better video later today after driving for a bit. Interior resonance is a bit more but not bad. I have the whole car deadened so it's not bad. The high pitch rattle isn't there but now it a high end WOT growl sound. I have a feeling it's due to our header and not enough of a resonator, but it's more of a sound I like since I had a truck before this. It's a nice, SRT-4ish growl on the highway and on downshifting. Definately a totally different sound than the Draxas rear. I love it
. I might get another resonator added in, 12-14 inch, maybe near the gas tank area to help out but not sure. It's much better than it was.
