Understood... If your positive its not you, then maybe try the redline mt-90 tranny fluid that everyone talks about, i think its supposed to have less friction and make the gears mesh better. I don't have it so i don't truly know but its just a suggestion, try to find someone on here with it and ask. Im gettin it next month. I've heard good things!

it doesnt. its the stock height with shorter, and more percise throws. much like an evo; if anyone has driven one of those. its shifter is physically tall, but doesnt move more than an inch or two in any direction. i dont want to have to reach down to my knee to grab a gear, so this is perfect for me. the lower the location, the more distance my hand has to travel to get to it from the wheel.

i was in the same boat as u, but after reading it all, i ended up with B&M

TWM stage 2 is the most aggressive in hieght but for the price, its too hefty for me. and almost all aftermarket shifters for the tc out there comes with solid base bushing.
so thats 144$(twm stg2) + 44.90$(bushingkit) + s/h = ouuch

how do u drive ? do u rest ur elbow on the center console ? lenght of ur forearm ? etc is some of the things u want to think about before u get a shorty shifter.

i think ur best bet is to ask in regional and watch for local meets, just ask around if u can get a feel of their stick( )

no matter what short shifter you go, u will see a big improvement.(short = distance between gears )

I think I'll go for the TRD shifter; I also want something with the same height, but less shifting angle. My mom's '05 Celica has a short shifter in it (don't know if it's stock or an option), and I can shift so quickly with it. No regrets, though; I have the 2.4L 160 HP engine, and she doesn't. I just need a smoother shifter, especially going 2-3 (I've done 2-1 a couple of times, thankfully slamming down the clutch when I discover what I just did; not fun to squeal the tires THAT way).

I am looking for pics of the House of Scion $85 short shifter installed. I want a shorter throw, and shorter height, at a lower price hah!

I am trying to piece a few things together before winter storage is here.
